Ningjing Nüdan – Feminine Inner Alchemy
What is Ningjing Nüdan?
Nüdan ( nǚdān / nu dan / female inner alchemy) originally emerged as a refined, women-centred branch of Taoist inner alchemy.
Ningjing Nüdan is its modern, experiential path.
The specific nature of the female body, cycles, life phases – and the quality of Yin – are not side elements here, but gateways.
who is this for?
Ningjing Nüdan may be for you if…
- you no longer want to live and act from force as a woman
- you feel that Yin quality is missing from your life and you don’t know how to reconnect with it
- sensing and direct experience matter to you at least as much as understanding things intellectually
- you are drawn to quiet, deep practice and no longer wish to organise your life around goals, constant action and performance
- you would like to experience ageing not as decline, but as a process of ripening and inner enrichment
Where Yin Becomes Conscious
Imagine that your life is not a straight line filled with obstacles you have to fight through. But a spiral movement – like the rhythm of the ocean waves, the phases of the moon, or your own monthly cycle.
Feminine Inner Alchemy (Nüdan) is the conscious art of this inner rhythm – the nature of Yin. We are not trying to gain external power, but to awaken and harmonise the inner source that already lives within you.
This path is different from what the world usually suggests.
Everyday life tends to push us – women included – towards Yang qualities: speed, performance, constant reacting.
Over time, this creates ongoing tension, inner disturbance and a state of chronic overdrive.
The practice of nüdan is often symbolic
It is not a mechanical “energy technique.” Rather, it is about sensing, fine-tuning, and attuned cooperation – between body and mind, consciousness and the unconscious, our inner and outer worlds, as well as yin and yang qualities.
The aim is not to “do it perfectly,” but to learn how to perceive more and more precisely what is happening within us. At the same time, we explore ways of practising in harmony with our own inner rhythm.
what do you receive here?
- A practical approach to female inner alchemy (Nüdan) – not just theory
- A grounded, body-based awakening of the Yin quality
- A subtle yet deep way of practising, based on less effort, more space
- A gradually unfolding path built on solid Qigong foundations
- An inner compass that helps your life phases enrich you instead of breaking you apart
You can recognise Yang-dominance in yourself when…
- you try to solve situations through force or irritation
- you feel exhausted because your attention is scattered across too many tasks
- impatience takes over, because you feel you should respond to every impulse immediately – but you simply can’t anymore
- you notice anxiety arising because you can’t control everything around you
- you start seeing softness as weakness – even as a woman
- your attention and actions become rushed and restless
- and eventually everything irritates you that doesn’t happen instantly
These are not character flaws. They are signs that you have been functioning in a Yang-mode for too long.
Ningjing Nüdan supports a natural rebalancing of this shift – first of all, within you. And as your inner energetic balance restores, your presence begins to change.
You start affecting others in a different way – not through force, but through a new quality of being.

What can you expect in practice?
Ningjing Nüdan does not promise quick fixes, but a deep shift.
For many women, the very beginning already feels different – as if your inner system finally receives not another task, but a space where it can reorganise and settle.
In practice, we work with:
- refining body awareness
- the relationship between breath and attention (not through forcing, but through allowing)
- the womb–heart–brain connection
- awakening and stabilising the Yin quality
- your inner rhythm: cycles, life phases, natural waves
- presence: how to remain open and receptive even when the world pushes you towards closing down
What typically happens during the first 3–4 weeks?
Since the Yin foundations are already established in the Basic Course, the effects of Ningjing Nüdan often become noticeable quite quickly.
For many women, the first weeks feel like a deeper transition period.
As the womb–heart–brain connection refines, an emotional cleansing may begin: old, stuck feelings can surface and start to release. You may find yourself coming into closer contact with your inner rhythm, and your practice begins to align more naturally with your own cyclical waves.
Instead of the previously familiar dynamic (waidan) exercises, more space opens for quiet inward attention. At this point it may feel as if you are “doing less” – while in reality you are working on a much deeper level.
After a few weeks, a common reflection from others is:
“You seem different lately.”
Internally, many experience that even in tense situations more inner space becomes available – and from this space, new ways of responding begin to emerge.
How is this different from the “classical” (more Yang-based) approach?
We don’t work with harsh exercises or willpower.
We don’t regulate through force, but through allowing and creating space.
Here, intention is not a command, but a subtle direction: it doesn’t generate effort – it opens space. And within this space, body and mind can begin to reorganise themselves naturally.
On the path of female alchemy, something very different becomes real instead of “more, faster, stronger”: a finer presence, deeper perception, and far less overexertion.
How does Ningjing Qigong connect to this?
Ningjing Nüdan is built on the foundations of Ningjing Qigong. During the Basic Course, we establish the inner stability that allows this more subtle path to unfold safely. Certain foundational practices (such as the Standing Tree or the Small Heavenly Orbit) begin to transform here: there is less external guidance and more inner listening. New elements also appear – practices that specifically open the way towards feminine inner work.
As you arrive at neigong, something shifts.
The practice suddenly feels as if it is made of a different substance – as though the same movements start to glow from within.
reviews & feedback
the essence of the feminine inner Alchemy
Qigong works with the biology and energy of the body.
It teaches you to slow down, to sense, to receive, to allow flow, to recharge and to regenerate.
Female inner alchemy goes deeper than this.
It works not only with energy, but with your whole story.
With your cycles.
With the memories of your births and being born.
With the heat waves of menopause.
With tears you never cried.
With joys and sorrows you lived – and those you didn’t.
With your many feminine qualities and life phases.
With your past, your present – and your future as well.
The essence of feminine inner alchemy is to transform your relationship to all of this.
So that change is no longer a burden, but a companion.
So that pain is no longer an enemy, but a teacher.
So that the body is no longer an obstacle, but a gateway.
Feminine alchemy reminds you
that your body is not only your home –
but the living chronicle
of your story.
And it places the pen back in your hand.
So you can continue writing.
In your own rhythm.
how can you learn it?
Prerequisite
Ningjing Nüdan is based on subtle inner work and builds upon Yin-focused qigong foundations.
For this reason, completing the Ningjing Basic Course and being familiar with the Intermediate practices is essential, as these provide the stable base upon which the path of female inner alchemy can unfold safely.
Where and with whom can you learn this?
Ningjing Nüdan is taught through personal transmission by Edina Góra, either in Hungary or in Tenerife.
Edina has been practising qigong since 2001. Over the years, her focus has gradually deepened toward Yin qualities and the more subtle layers of female inner work. Her teaching method is grounded in many years of experience as a qigong instructor and is complemented by a body-based and systemic helping approach.
You can find her detailed training background and professional history on the About page.

Important
Nüdan is available exclusively to long-term students and is therefore not publicly advertised.
Dates for the female alchemy programmes are shared via newsletter only, so it is recommended to subscribe to the Ningjing Letters.
